How it works
ColdSlayer® socks use a new patented heating technology that we developed to keep your feet warm without batteries or chemical packs! We’ve integrated a super thin and flexible heat exchanger seamlessly into the socks – it takes heat from your warm legs and brings it down to your cold toes every time you take a step. There’s nothing to recharge or replace, they’ll keep working even when wet, and they can’t burn you. You put them on and wear them just like normal socks – that means you can wash and dry them too. Starting at only $79/pair, with multi-pair discounts available, these socks provide an affordable solution to an age old problem: freezing cold toes.
Why are they better?
Around 2 billion disposable chemical pack warmers are used each year, leading to significant trash in the landfill and not to mention chemicals polluting our ecosystems. Not only are they wasteful to use, but can be hazardous as well. Most chemical packs are NOT designed to be exposed directly to your skin for long periods of time and can easily tear resulting in a shoe full of reacting chemicals!
The other primary alternative is battery heated socks, which aren’t much better. The batteries generate toxic e-waste if not disposed of properly and most companies recommend replacing them every other year for optimal performance! Not to mention that battery heated socks are just a hassle to deal with. They require the user to charge them before use and they never seem to last more than a few hours.
Both chemical packs and battery heated socks have been known to cause severe burns to the users!
