Introducing The Atlantic

The Atlantic sounds like a beautifully versatile piece, blending the robust functionality of a dive watch with the refined elegance of a dress watch. Perfectly suited for urban explorers, it embodies Aerotec’s design philosophy while remaining versatile for both active and city-centered lifestyles.

While traditional dive watches boast water resistance and durability ideal for an active lifestyle, their thick, bulky design often poses a challenge for everyday wear. Dive watches typically have a chunky and heavy—great for underwater use, but often impractical for daily life when you’re slipping it under a shirt cuff or gloves. For those who want the functionality of a dive watch without the extra bulk, these thicker models can feel out of place as an everyday companion.

Our Approach

At Aerotec, we see this as a fundamental design opportunity. We believe in creating a dive watch that’s slim and versatile enough for seamless wear from office to outdoors, without sacrificing any of the rugged durability you’d expect from a true diver.

Over the years, we at Aerotec have specialized in crafting dive watches. Building on this experience, we set out to challenge the conventional design and production of dive watches to create our vision of the ultimate minimalist everyday watch. This approach combines streamlined aesthetics with the durability and water resistance expected in a dive watch, resulting in a timepiece that balances functionality with a sleek, modern design ideal for any setting.

The Dial

To achieve the intricate textured effects in watch dials, sterling silver is often utilized due to its malleability, durability, and ability to hold fine details. Sterling silver, an alloy containing 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals (often copper), is particularly suitable for creating unique textures and patterns that enhance the dial’s aesthetic appeal.

This material not only adds a luxurious touch but also provides excellent contrast for design elements such as indices and hands, ensuring both beauty and functionality. The natural luster of silver contributes to the elegance and reflective qualities of the dial, making it a preferred choice for premium watchmaking.

The Atlantic will be available in three distinct dial colors: teal, raspberry, and orange. Each of these dial options offers unique aesthetic and functional advantages:

Raspberry Dial: This vibrant and textured option adds a bold statement to your wrist. It’s ideal for those who enjoy a touch of color while maintaining elegance.

Orange Dial: A classic choice for dive watches, orange enhances visibility underwater and creates a sporty, energetic look suitable for outdoor adventures.

Teal Dial: A versatile and modern choice, teal provides a calming yet striking appearance. It pairs well with both casual and formal settings, offering excellent readability.

These options allow you to choose a design that resonates with your personal style while enjoying the Atlantic’s minimalist yet robust features.

Crystal

The Atlantic features a domed sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystals are far more scratch resistant than the mineral ones you often see on affordable watches. It’s coated inside with an anti-reflective coating for maximum readability in any light. The full height of the watch, including the crystal, is just under 12 mm.

Clear Readability – Any Place, Any Time

Whether diving deep below the sea or moving through the city after dark, the phosphorescent glow of the hands and bezel ensures effortless time-reading in low light. In daylight, the lume enhances contrast, making the hands pop against the dial for improved readability.

For a lasting, vivid glow, we use a premium 3-layer application of 100% Swiss-Made BGW9 Super-LumiNova. This advanced, non-radioactive, and non-toxic formula, made with strontium aluminate, offers exceptional luminosity to keep your time visible, anytime, anywhere.

Caseback

A Testament to Fine Detail

At Aerotec, our commitment to detail shines through in the Atlantic. From its sapphire glass to the secure screw-down crown, each element emphasizes the timepiece’s refined character. The bead-blasted case lends a unique texture, while our signature caseback—featuring a small sapphire crystal window—adds a touch of luxury to its rugged, timeless design. The Atlantic exemplifies our dedication to blending elegance with durability.

Titanium case

Our cases are made from high-grade bead blasted finished titanium. Titanium is tough and light, resulting in a solid and substantial timepiece that comes in weighing just 47g.

Titanium is a very popular material choice for high-end watches for three main reasons: –

First off, it is about five times stronger than steel, making the Aerotec Atlantic watch far more durable than even costlier alternatives on the market.

Secondly, titanium is about half the weight of steel with a density of 4.5g/cc vs. 7.8g/cc for steel.

-Finally, titanium is highly corrosion resistant. This means no rusting and has the added benefit of being hypoallergenic.

Movement

Measuring 40mm in diameter with a thickness of 12mm, the Aerotec Atlantic titanium watch case is fitted with a scratch resistant anti-reflective domed Sapphire crystal and a Aerotec signature unique titanium caseback. These dimensions make for a very wearable piece that is ideally proportioned and allow for versatility while allowing a water resistance of 200 meters. It’s dive ready with a nicely gripped and unique dive bezel. Thanks to the titanium case, the Atlantic titanium watch weighs just 47 grams. The Aerotec titanium is features a Miyota 9015 caliber movement. This solid, reliable movement has a 42 hour power reserve, 24 jewels, and a classic three hand display with discreet date display at six o’clock. The spec of the Japanese 9015 is a conscious one that brings with it many benefits. For starters it’s more than a match for its Swiss counterparts on all levels; from accuracy to reliability. Smooth with a decent power reserve it’s an automatic movement that can be hand wound and features a hacking seconds hand for syncing to your chosen time zone. The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 42 hours. Granted, there are movements out there with bigger reserves and faster sweeps but they come at a price and tend to spend more time on the work bench. We simply want the Forte to spend more time on the wrist. It’s also a nice thin movement, which means we can keep things slim in the case without losing strength.
