As a pet brand, we create products that respect all living beings, using recycled leather to ensure sustainability, protect resources, and minimize environmental impact—crafting high-quality items without harming other animals
Recycled leather is a sustainable material made from scraps, cuttings, and trimmings that would otherwise end up in landfills. Through advanced processes like hydro-entanglement, these leather fibers are bonded to create sheets that retain the softness, durability, and water resistance of traditional leather, while using no chemical binders. The final material is a blend of 63% recycled pre-consumer leather fibers and 37% vegan materials, offering lightweight, durable, and low-maintenance characteristics.
We are committed to working closely with our partnered leather factory to continually increase the percentage of recycled leather fibers in our materials, advancing both sustainability and performance.
GRS (Global Recycled Standard) is a certification that not only verifies the recycled material content of finished products but also ensures compliance with environmental, social, and chemical standards.
Our recycled leather is patented in the US and Korea and GRS-certified, ensuring sustainability and innovation in every detail.

Our Story
It all started when my partner and I moved to New York with our toy poodle, Potato. Excited for new adventures in the city, we quickly realized how much we relied on practical, well-designed essentials for navigating urban life with a dog. Finding the right carrier for Potato, however, proved harder than we expected. Most options felt either overly designed or lacking the comfort and functionality we needed for everyday use.
Frequently carrying Potato, I quickly realized how every dimension, weight, and small feature could significantly impact comfort and usability. We wanted a design that seamlessly balanced practicality with timeless style, reflecting both of our tastes.
With my background in architecture and design, I set out to create a solution. What began as a single design quickly grew into a bigger idea: reimagining pet essentials to blend form, function, and a modern aesthetic.
At NOTCOMMON STUDIO, we believe thoughtful design enriches the everyday bond between pets in meaningful ways. From carriers to collars, every product is crafted with care, balancing functionality, comfort, and simple beauty. Made with recycled leather and exceptional craftsmanship, our products celebrate the connection between pets and their owners, ensuring every detail feels as special as the bond you share.
We are launching the carrier tote through this Kickstarter campaign, but our vision for NOTCOMMON STUDIO extends far beyond this product. We have already begun sampling and developing additional items for the collection, and we hope this campaign will not only bring the carrier tote to life but also support the production of every thoughtfully designed product we envision for pet lovers everywhere.
