The Daymaker – by Common Tiger

In 2020, like so many of us, I found refuge in the outdoors. To be able to enjoy it, I searched for a chair that combined comfort, style, and premium quality — only to discover it wasn’t out there.

The road to create products that prioritize the user led me to partner with Alquemy.  A renowned design consultancy, together, we set out to bring The Daymaker from concept to form. Through research, innovation, and rigorous testing, we uncovered key pain points and opportunities to pioneer new solutions.

• Proven Functionality: Our design has been rigorously tested to validate its comfort, usability, and durability.
• Pre-Production Testing: Initial load and safety testing confirm that The Daymaker meets high-performance standards, with further refinements ahead.
• Tooling & Molds in Progress: We’ve invested in preliminary tooling, and with Kickstarter support, we’ll complete and optimize the final production molds.

Collaboration & Expertise

• Design & Engineering: Industrial designers in Australia and the US, and product experts in the Netherlands have developed The Daymaker through multiple rounds of prototyping and refinement.
• Deep Industry Experience: Our team has powered the launch and growth of iconic, design-driven brands like Bugaboo. That same expertise has informed every aspect of The Daymaker’s development.
• Manufacturing & Execution: We’ve partnered with an established Taiwanese manufacturer to prepare for production.

• 2021: Initial sketches and virtual collaborations with designers in Australia and the Netherlands
• 2022: Early prototypes underwent rigorous testing to refine functionality and style
• 2023: Iterative prototypes incorporated ergonomic and functional innovations
• 2024: Pre-production began with an experienced manufacturer in Taiwan

2025

• January 2025: 2nd Engineering Build; testing
• February 2025: Finalize production molds; testing; Golden Sample
• March 2025: Begin the first manufacturing run; complete quality checks and prepare for shipment
• April 2025: Begin shipping rewards to backers

• Complete and optimize preliminary tooling for mass production
• Fine-tune all mechanisms and attachment methods for a smooth, intuitive experience
• Refine textile selection and fit to ensure our covers are durable as well as eco-friendly
• Optimize user-focused details (zippers, snaps, etc) for maximum ease of use
• Continue pre-production testing to ensure quality and durability
• Launch our first production run to bring The Daymaker to market
• Build an engaged community to jointly develop our accessory roadmap
