Inspired by capstans hoisting cargo, the Oceanus Brass Tankard embodies a triumph of brute strength and craftsmanship. More visceral than any liquid it holds, the Tankard offers a ritual of resolve for those bold enough to partake. Start your day with grit, or celebrate accomplishments at the end of it. Either way, the Tankard rises to the occasion.
Machined from a solid 8-inch diameter bar of 304 stainless steel, The Oceanus Brass Tankard is offered in two sizes; the 20-pound colossus with a 20oz capacity and the featherweight 8-pound variant holding 16oz — each designed to turn heads and test hands.
With a substantial thermal mass, The Tankard is both a heat sink and a heat source. Lock in the heat of your morning coffee or freeze it to maintain the icy chill of your favorite refreshment.
The iconic bow-shackle locks a precision cut, dovetail jointed brass handle into place. Feel free to use it as an emergency anchor, just ensure your rigging is up to the task first — the Tankard doesn’t travel light.

Manufacturing
The Oceanus Brass Tankard is crafted with painstaking attention to detail on a state-of-the-art, Swiss-type, automatic lathe. Every component is given painstaking attention to detail. The Oceanus Brass Tankard’s body begins life as a ~35 Pound cylinder of solid Stainless Steel. Through the precision of Swiss engineering fifteen pounds of metal are then carved off. Meticulous machining to a tolerance within one one-thousandth of an inch allows a 20-pound colossus marvel to emerge. This metamorphosis from raw metal to a polished, functional vessel encapsulates our labor of love and dedication to the craft.

The Dovetail Joint is a joinery technique pre-dating written history, that is rarely ever achieved in metal. The pins and tails of the joint have a trapezoidal shape which locks their their counterparts into shape. Due to the extreme tolerances required, the Dovetail joint requires extreme precision to achieve. When cut into wood, the joint can be compressed, when cut into metal extreme precision machining is the only option.
Since launching our Enigma Coffer Campaign in 2020, we have produced thousands of instances of this unique architecture. We believe we have perfected our ability to machine both at the tolerances required and in the quantities required to create an exceptional drinking vessel. We have confidence that the joint we will create will both stand up to the sheer bulk of the Tankard, and be an engineering marvel worthy of admiration!
